1) Project Management Processes – Integration Management
Because it ties together different knowledge areas, project integration is the core role of project managers. It allows the project manager to link project components and tie them together. The project manager can be described as an integrator. He integrates the work and knowledge of other Project Management Knowledge Areas to create a cohesive effort towards project success. It encompasses activities, tasks, and processes that combine various project efforts into a single directed effort to achieve project success. Project integration is the only responsibility that project managers can delegate.
PMP Process #1: Develop Project Charter Process
The purpose of the Develop Project Charter process is to formalize the existence of the project. Also, provide an authorization document to the project manager to access the resources needed for the project.
To facilitate the work of project managers, the process of developing a project charter is completed at the very beginning of project initiation. The project charter is the key deliverable. The project charter is a document that is created from the project business plan and benefits management plan. It is then processed in light of applicable contracts, agreements and processes. The project charter is used by companies for authorization of internal projects. Companies use contracts when dealing with projects for external customers. This is because of the legal consequences. The project charter document contains the project objectives, high level requirements, and exit criteria.
The Develop Project Charter process also provides an assumption log. Assumptions log includes high-level assumptions and constraints for project projects.

PMP Process #2: Develop Project Management Plan Process
The goal of the Develop Project Management Plan process is to combine all project planning into one integrated project management plan. This is essential to project planning as it helps to align all components plans. This is why this process is essential for project success. Even if expert planners are responsible for the component plans, the project manager must oversee this process.
This process produces the key output, the project management plan. It is an integrated and aligned version all sub-plans approved and signed by key stakeholders.
Project management processes can be documented and managed with the help of project management templates. To get an idea of the process, you can view free samples of project management templates.
